Bio

A famous group of four musicians once sang, “I’ll get by with a little help from my friends.” Those words always resonated with me, and as I have grown older, I have come to realize that sometimes getting by takes even more. Making our way through the challenges of life can be difficult. There are periods of time when we all need some help.

As someone who has worked with children, teens, adults, families, and couples in the Portland area for over 20 years, I am driven to see people succeed, while offering any help that I can. I am here to advocate, challenge, listen, and offer perspectives that may give some insight into whatever is going on in your life. I am genuinely intrigued by the story each person brings and the ways in which those stories have shaped the person that they are.

I believe the way we think about ourselves and the world around us heavily impacts the way we react and show up in our lives. From trauma to lack of access to resources, or from unmet needs to mental health diagnoses, our perception of the world and ourselves can blind us or set us off track. With this in mind, I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model. This approach challenges you to adopt new ways of thinking while encouraging the development of positive behavioral coping skills. Through the use of a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, I intend to collaborate with you to understand what changes you would like to see in your life. From there we will cocreate a path toward healing that is individual to you.

Fun Fact: When I am not doing the work that I deeply enjoy, I am spending time with my family, fly fishing, rafting, watching the Blazers, or napping.
