Bio
Being a person isn’t easy. The human brain is complicated and sometimes mystifying. Our minds, bodies, and souls can get stuck in past hurts or anxious worries about the future. If you are wondering why you keep repeating the same self-defeating patterns, how to let go of the past, or what peace of mind feels like, therapy can help. Human beings heal in connection with other people. Finding a therapist who can create a safe, non-judgmental, and constructive environment built on mutual trust and respect is critical to the success of the therapeutic process.
My point of view as a therapist is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and social justice-oriented. I warmly welcome clients from all walks of life and particularly enjoy working with people with diverse life experiences, including the LGBTQ+ community, people living with ADHD or autism, and people of color. My role is to be your helper, ally, and guide in your travels as you work through the past and move toward a healthier, brighter future.
We will work in collaboration to set attainable and meaningful goals for therapy, and I’ll tailor my practice to work with your style and needs. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and I integrate these tools with elements of narrative and solution-focused therapy modalities. I also incorporate the science of neurobiology into my work with clients because many people find it helpful to better understand how the brain works.
If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addictions, or challenging life transitions, you’re on the right track by seeking help. If my approach sounds like a good fit, please reach out to schedule your first appointment. You are not alone!
