Bio

As a therapist, I’m inspired by being a part of the growth and healing process. Personally, and professionally, I value bringing more kindness, vulnerability, self-compassion, and creativity to the world. I enjoy working with a large range of clients and I specialize in helping people heal from depression and anxiety, improve their interpersonal skills, and overcome unwanted habits. I focus on creating a therapeutic atmosphere where people can truly feel safe, grounded, and open to exploration. Working with me means we will explore evidence-based approaches and techniques with flexibility and attention to your needs and specific situation. I draw from fourteen years working in mental health, including a background in social work, which has offered me the opportunity to better understand intersectional oppressions and the process of liberation.

I believe people can make positive changes in their life in many ways, including:

  • Receiving compassionate understanding from ourselves or others.
  • Becoming aware of and engaging with our internal dialogue with clarity and kindness.
  • Allowing personal transformation by connecting with our emotions and bodies.
  • Creating new behavioral patterns that bring more success to our lives.

We engage in this kind of change every day, but I believe working with a therapist can help us along when we get stuck.

TEAM-CBT is my primary modality. It integrates cognitive, behavioral, interpersonal, and gestalt therapy methods. It is a form of therapy that offers plenty of great tools we can explore, so you can experience clarity, relief, and happiness in your life. It teaches straightforward skills you can use on your own. I am also informed in and draw tools from Person-Centered Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Polyvagal Theory.

Fun Fact: I used to be a rock and roll instructor.
