Britt Hodgdon, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Bio
If you have found yourself living out cycles that feel out of your control or simply frustrating, or if you’ve survived something that continues to impact your current and future life, the time for stepping into a therapeutic space may be calling.
I deeply believe that all healing starts with connection. I welcome the opportunity to sit with people who are unsure of what comes next but know something has to give.
I utilize somatic interventions, psychodynamic practice, and relational theory, along with a sound neurophysiological understanding of trauma, to support you in broadening your sense of self and well-being. I often work with people who find that access to their own bodies and emotions feels far off and who are looking, directly or indirectly, to reconnect with themselves. I do not rely on “just talking” to heal what hurts.
With 23 years in social services in Chicago and Denver, and the last 13 years as a clinician focused primarily on complex trauma care, I am passionate about destigmatizing mental health care for people who didn’t grow up with therapy as a norm. I believe in offering the best care to people who have too often received less than they deserve within systems of care.
I work from a social justice and anti-oppressive foundation and see radical authenticity, curiosity, and humor as key tools in transforming old pain and patterns into something closer to thriving. I cannot be the expert on your life, but I am here to accompany you on this journey toward greater freedom in your body and in your relationships.
